Welcome to Rupert, Vermont

Chartered in 1761 by New Hampshire Governor Benning Wentworth, who named it after Prince Rupert of the Rhine, Rupert is located in the unspoiled northwest corner of Bennington County. We are bordered on the west by Washington County, New York; on the east by the town of Dorset; on the north by Pawlet; and on the south by Sandgate.

2026 Dog Licenses

2026 Dog Licenses are due April 1, 2026.  Rabies vaccination must be current in order to register your dog(s).  Town office is open Mondays 11-7, Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5 and Thursdays 8:30 - 3:30.  Office will also be open on Saturday - March 28th. - from 9-12.  read more
