A: Voting is Tuesday, March 1, 2022. Polls open at 10:00 A.M. and close at 7:00 P.M. Voting takes place at the Rupert Town Office. Absentee ballots are available upon request.
Q. WHAT ARE THE DEADLINES FOR ARTICLES AND NOMINATING PETITIONS ?
A: Petitions for articles to appear on the March 1, 2022 ballot are due Jan. 13, 2022 by 3:30 P.M. Nominating petitions for town offices are due Jan. 24, 2022 by 5:00 P.M. (even though the town office is open until 7:00 P.M). Petition forms and more information are available at the Rupert Town Office.
Q: WHEN ARE PROPERTY TAXES DUE?
A: Rupert operates on a July 1 to June 30 Fiscal year. Property taxes for tax year 2021-2022, the first 50% of the bill is due on September 10, 2021 and the second 50% is due on February 10, 2022. Payment may be made at the town office or by mail. Credit cards are not accepted.
Q: WHEN MUST DOG LICENSES BE RENEWED?
A: Registration due date for 2022 is April 1. License fees are $ 10 for neutered or spayed dogs and $ 14 for unaltered dogs. Payment is to be made at the Town Office. There is a $ 4 per license penalty charge for registrations after April 1, 2022. Rabies vaccination must be current. See page 21 of the F’2019-2020 Annual Report for more details.
